Empowerment Scholarship Account (ESA)
The Universal Empowerment Scholarship Award (ESA) is a new scholarship program offered through the State of Arizona that allows students to receive funds to pay for school tuition at a private school.

Who is eligible to receive the Universal ESA?
Any K-12 child whose parents/guardians are Arizona residents. You need only your child’s birth certificate and a proof of residency (ex. Utility bill, finacial documents, housing documents, etc). There are no income requirements.
*For students that have a disability, then a different ESA is available.

Who should apply for ESA
You should apply for for ESA for each of students. ESA will give you a statement of how much your students would receive quarterly. You can choose to accept or decline. If you decline we recommned applying for STOs.
First time ESA applicants
If this is your first year using ESA, applications open in May.
ESA Renewals
You will be sent a renewal email offer in May or June.
What to do after accepting ESA
After signing your ESA contract, you will create an account in an online program called ClassWallet. Each quarter, you upload an invoice for Saints Simon and Jude’s tuition and ClassWallet pays the tuition to OLMC from your account.

Can you use ESA and STO at the same time
AZ State Law prohibits the use of Empowerment Scholarship Award (ESA) funds and Student Tuition Organization funds at the same time for a students education.
