Today’s the Day! #Pope’sHopeChallenge
Today was the big day! SS. Simon & Jude Cathedral School happily took part in the #PopesHopeChallenge! All week, we have been collecting items for “Blessing Bags” – ziploc bags to fill with water bottles, snacks, toiletries, and even socks! Students also wrote little notes of love and encouragement to include in the bags. Bright and early this morning, our student council laid out all of the donations in the cafeteria, and throughout the day, our students came in and assembled “Blessing Bags”. The students took the bags with them, and when they see someone in need, at the freeway overpasses or on street corners, they can hand them a Blessing Bag, thereby spreading love and hope, just as Pope Francis has asked of us. Thank you so much to Catholic Charities for challenging all of us to LIVE the Gospel through the #PopesHopeChallenge. It is our sincere hope that this will plant a seed in every one of our students to help those less fortunate throughout their lives.
