Mrs. Kari Alba
I have been a member of SS. Simon and Jude Parish for many years. My four children received their Holy Sacraments here. I retired from the public school system in May of 2012 after teaching in South Phoenix for many years with special needs children. I was thrilled to be able to continue teaching and especially at SSJ! There is a special atmosphere that surrounds this school, which can only be the Holy Spirit and the love of Christ working within each of us. I enjoy teaching Spanish in the different classrooms. The teachers are very supportive and the students are motivated to learn. It is quite a thrill for me to communicate with students outside their classrooms in Spanish! I truly appreciate Sister Raphael giving me the opportunity to be a part of this blessed community.
Mrs. Kathi Stalzer
Mrs. Kathi Stalzer has been teaching Spanish at SSJ since 2011. She is married to Mark and they have five children—three who are SSJ alumni. She was born and raised in a devout Mexican Catholic family and attended Catholic elementary and high school in Tucson, AZ. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education, an Academic Certificate in Language Studies, and completed her M.Ed. through the University of Mary in the spring of 2018. Along with teaching Spanish, she is the technology coach for staff and students. When she isn’t fixing iPads or making a computer do what she wants, she loves to read. She taught choir and general music in the Cartwright District, gave private piano lessons, and was a church choir director for many years.
