Mrs. Kari Alba
I have been a member of SS. Simon and Jude Parish for approximately 25 years. My four children received their Holy Sacraments here. I have been and am currently active in the Religious Education Program, teaching in both English and in Spanish. I retired from the public school system in May of 2012 after teaching in South Phoenix for 32 years with special needs children. I was thrilled to be able to continue teaching and especially at SSJ! There is a special atmosphere that surrounds this school, which can only be the Holy Spirit and the love of Christ working within each of us. I enjoy teaching Spanish in the different classrooms. The teachers are very supportive and the students are motivated to learn. It is quite a thrill for me to communicate with students outside their classrooms in Spanish! I truly appreciate Sister Raphael giving me the opportunity to be a part of this blessed community.
Mrs. Kathi Stalzer
My name is Kathi Stalzer. I have been married to my wonderful husband Mark for 27 years. We have five children ages 25-11. Our two sons currently at Bourgade are a freshman and a senior and both are SSJ graduates. Our youngest is a 6th grader here this year. I was born and raised in a devout Mexican Catholic family and am proud of my heritage.
I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education from the University of Arizona, and after many years of being a music teacher I went back to school to get my Academic Certificate in Language Studies. This is my 5th year teaching Spanish at SSJ. I am the 6-8 grade Spanish teacher, and the Educational Technology Coach for the faculty. I direct the singers for our spring musicals as well as the student choir that volunteers to sing for Mass once a month at the Beatitudes Retirement Community.
My Catholic faith is not something that I do, it is who I am. My ministry involvement has included music, RE, VBS, stewardship committee and Marriage Encounter. I am also a Safe Environment Trainer for the Diocese of Phoenix.
I am blessed to be teaching at Ss. Simon and Jude and love the diversity of all that I do.
