SCRIP


✝  What is SCRIP?

SCRIP is gift cards and gift certificates.  The school buys SCRIP at a discounted rate and sells it to you at face value.  You pay $25 for a $25 gift certificate to the merchant of your choice.  The advantage of SCRIP is that, not only does the school make a profit, but our school families can also save money in tuition fees by participating in the T.R.I.P. program.  How do you do this??  Create new habits by purchasing SCRIP for items you already use on a regular basis.  It’s a win-win situation for everyone!!

✝  Planning A Spring Break Trip?


Use SCRIP when planning your vacations.  You can load up your Fry’s SCRIP card and purchase SW Airlines, MC and AmEx gift cards at the kiosk in your local Fry’s grocery store.  Use the MC and AmEx gift cards to pay for hotel rooms, rental cars, admission tickets to theme parks, etc.  All it costs you is a little extra pre-planning time.


✝  What is T.R.I.P. (Tuition Reduction Incentive Program)?


SS. Simon & Jude School offers a tuition reduction incentrive Program thorugh the SCRIP program.  After the first $175 in profit from your SCRIP purchases, SS. Simon & Jude School will credit you with 50% of the remaining profits from your family’s purchases.  All families will receive a credit toward their tuition for the following year.  For this program to benefit your family, you need to start thinking in terms of using SCRIP for all your family’s needs, i.e. groceries, gasoline, gifts, dining out, etc.  Other ways to increase your orders are to purchase SCRIP for your business.  You can get family and friends to purchase SCRIP through SSJ and designate your family as beneficiary for their TRIP credit.  (These purchases must be brought in to SSJ by the school family.)


EXAMPLES

This example shows grocery purchases with a 6% profit.  (Each store offers different percentage rates to SSJ.  These are listed on the order form.)  You can achieve your $175 minimum or increase your tuition  rebate more quickly by purchasing from stores or restaurants with the much higher percentages.


In other words, if you spend $100 per week at Fry’s, that will be $6 per week toward your $175.  If spend $100 at Bath and Body Works, that will be $14 toward your $175.  Once you hit $175 in profit for the school, SSJ will SPLIT the rest of the profits with you 50-50 ... and you will get credit toward your tuition the following school year.


Use SCRIP for EVERYTHING and you’re on your way to reduced tuition!!
